Walk and Talk Access AuditsHaving spent many years working in the hospitality industry in our former life handling sales and valuations, we feel that we have an affinity with guest houses and small hotel or licensed premise operators. We have offered our services to a number of hotel associations and tourist boards, to help raise awareness of disability and the legislative duties of service providers. Most people we meet at such events are genuinely keen to ensure their service and premises are accessible but unsure where to start. In recognition of this, Access Staintons have introduced new style Access Audit Inspections, "Walk and Talk" giving the same advice and recommendations as a full report but provided verbally, and at significantly less cost to ensure affordability for all. An access auditor/consultant will inspect the premises, discuss the service provided and will then talk the client through any recommendations for alterations as "reasonable adjustment" under the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and perhaps advise how improvements to access can be made organisationally at little or no cost. Following inspections, Access Staintons are also able to refer the service providers to suitable suppliers of access products and auxiliary aids which could help.
